NLGX Sailing Party
The Beijing Sailing Center has teamed up with funky Beijing-based clothing brand NLGX to bring you a party with a difference, blending hot city style with cool water-front fun.
Escape to the coast for an action-packed day trying your hand at sailing, China’s most exciting new sport. Learn how to handle the boat under the care of our fully qualified instructors, then put your skills to the test in a mini regatta. With prizes donated by cool clothing brand NLGX, it’s all to play for!
After a day of thrills and spills on the water, chill out with a BBQ and beers by the water’s edge, then party the night away as the sun goes down and we turn the tunes up. Spend Sunday sailing, sightseeing or simply sunbathing on the beach.

The Itinerary - Sat 24 Jul
- 07:20 Leave from Beijing Main Railway Station for Beidaihe on the high-speed D-train.
- 09:20 Arrive Qinhuangdao and transfer by coach to the sail base (20 mins).
- 09:50 Arrive at the sail base, meet your instructor and change for sailing.
- 10:30 On the water for sail training with your instructor, who will guide you through the basics and teach you how to handle your boat.
- 13:00 Return to shore and enjoy a hearty sailor’s lunch.
- 14:00 Race briefing - learn all you need to know about how to gain the advantage on the racecourse.
- 14:30 Mini Regatta – the race is on to steer your boat around the course and stay ahead of the other competitors! With prizes up for grabs it’s all to play for.
- 17:00 Bar’s open - off the water, take a quick shower and change.
- 17:30 Prize giving – hurrah, another medal for the trophy cabinet!
- 18:00 Relax with BBQ dinner, after a long day on the water you’ll deserve it. Chill out as we turn the tunes up and the party starts!
Sun 25 Jul
- You choose! After a late start, get back on the water for another sailing session, or simply chill out on the beach. Or we can organize sightseeing activities for you (extra cost).
- After lunch at the Sailbase, we’ll transfer you from the sail base to Qinhuangdao train station, from where the 3.10pm high speed D-train will whisk you back to Beijing.
What to Bring
- Swimsuit, beach shorts and shirt
- Hat and sunglasses (preferably with a lanyard)
- Crocs, beach shoes or an old pair of trainers.
- Suntan lotion and insect repellent
- Rain jacket and jumper (weather can be different at the sailbase, so just in case!)
- Beach towel and soap
- We provide international standard lifejackets, wetsuits and helmets
Travel Plan
- We’ll be travelling by train from Beijing Railway Station to Qinhuangdao. We plan to catch the train at 07:20, so we’ll meet at the Beijing Main Railway Station at 07:00 July 24th.
- Arrive on time! Boarding typically starts 20-30 minutes before departure and closes 10 mins before departure.
- Collect your train ticket from our offices on booking or before Fri 23rd July or for a small fee we can send your train ticket to you - note that we cannot issue tickets at the station.

Cost & Terms
- Only RMB 1460 per person, including:
- All sailing and other sports during the event
- One-night accommodation at the 3-star Ao Lai Kai Hotel
- Train ticket from Beijing to Beidaihe/Qinhuangdao and return
- Transfers between Beidaihe station and the sailbase
- Lunch and BBQ dinner at Beijing Sailing Center
- Prizes and prize-giving at the sail base
- Water and soft fruit flavoured drinks (cans and alcoholic drinks are extra)
- Supplements and Deductables
- Prefer to stop over on Friday night, add RMB 640 for 1 night, plus change outbound train tickets to Friday.
- Full payment on registration. No registration can be confirmed without full payment. Substitutions are accepted but no refunds given.
- Facilities at the Beijing Sailing Center are functional, but basic, with lockers, changing rooms, showers & toilets for each sex.
- Exact number of prizes depends on the number of attendees. All timings given are approximate and subject to change. Exact trains will be determined when tickets are available.
