Nervous about the water?
Please make our staff aware if you or a member of your group attending a course is nervous about the water. You are not alone; many people have attended sailing courses when they are nervous about the water. You will always be wearing a buoyancy aid when on the water and our safety boats are always at hand. Our instructors are very patient and understanding. They will ensure that your buoyancy aid is correctly fitted and that you are on the correct course and using the correct boats for your ability. So please have a chat with our Instructors or any staff to put your mind at ease.

How long does it take to learn to sail?
After just our 2-day level 1 course you can be sailing comfortably in all directions under supervison in a controlled environment. After the 2-day level 2 course you can sail on the open sea independently. But, of course, can one ever totally master the wind and waves?

I don't have any sailing gear, where can I buy it?
We provide lifejackets, shorti wetsuits and helmets for everyone to use. To get started you just need swimming gear, shorts and T-shirt. Later if you want to buy your own equipment, we stock an exclusive range of top international sailing clothes and gear.

No wind or too much wind, raining – what do we do?
The weather conditions in Qinhuangdao are normally good for sailing. If the wind is light, then a sea breeze fills in during the day. If the wind is strong, we can usually still sail inside the harbour. However, if we are faced with inappropriate condition then our instructors will adjust the schedule and teach sailing theory.

Are there any changing facilities?
Yes. There are changing facilities with showers available for our clients to use. There is also a drying room available to put wetsuits in over night or at lunch time.

Do you have on dining facilities and a bar?
Yes. Our clubhouse offers a la carte, buffet and barbeque catering, together with a range of drinks. There's nothing better than relaxing beside the sea with a sundowner after a hard days sailing.

Some of my friends and family are non-sailors, is there anything for them to do?
How can they not be interested in sailing - philistines! There is the golden sandy beach right next to our centre, the Xinao Underwater World and Dolphinarium (1km), Qinhuangdao Safari Park (5km) and the start of the Great Wall at The Old Dragon's Head (20km).
